Italo Lifante, M.D.
A neurointerventionalist, Dr. Lifante practices within the Baptist Cardiac and Vascular Institute. Before joining Radiology Associates of South Florida, Dr. Lifante served as an associate professor in neurology and radiology in the University of Massachusetts’ Section of Neuroendovascular Surgery/Interventional Neuroradiology.
He has participated in several clinical trials of drugs and technologies related to stroke and other cerebrovascular conditions and has lectured widely on related topics. Dr. Lifante also serves on the editorial board of Stroke and has been a guest editor for several other peer-reviewed medical journals.
A native of Italy, Dr. Lifante earned his medical degree from the University of Rome “La Sapienza,” where he also served a residency in neurology. He completed residencies in internal medicine at George Washington University Medical Center and in neurology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He served fellowships in neuroradiology/neuroimaging at the Neuro-Imaging Branch of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland; in cerebrovascular diseases at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School’s Division of Cerebrovascular Diseases; and in neuroendovascular surgery/interventional neuroradiology at Harvard and at the University of Miami in Florida.
