Lawrence F. Elgarresta, M.D.
A partner with Radiology Associates of South Florida, Dr. Elgarresta is an attending at the Baptist Hospital of Miami, South Miami Hospital, Homestead Hospital, and the Baptist Outpatient Center. He previously worked for Florida United Radiology at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center, Westside Regional Hospital, and Plantation General Hospital.
Board-certified in both diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine, Dr. Elgarresta is involved in the nuclear medicine subsection of RASF and serves as the associate medical director of PET-CT imaging. His areas of interest and expertise include oncological and cardiac imaging; he also dedicates time to body imaging and women's imaging.
Dr. Elgarresta has published a number of articles on topics such as pediatric congenital ophthalmic abnormalities, magnetic resonance angiography in the evaluation of the great vessels, and octreoscan in the evaluation of neuroendocrine tumors.
Dr. Elgarresta earned an undergraduate degree and an M.D. from the University of Miami. He completed a residency in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in nuclear medicine at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital and Medical Center. He also served as chief resident in diagnostic radiology and was named as an associate professor in the department of radiology.
